FREE Photos Collaboration Proposal

For Google Reviews & SEO-Optimizing Backlinks

Thank you for considering a collaboration with me - this is an exciting opportunity for both of us!

When we spoke, I offered you my photography services for FREE so we can create content, reviews and backlinks that will boost both our Google SEO search rankings, make our businesses easier to find and help generate new Customers.

Here’s a photo featuring local social media influencers for a collaboration on a Spring Apparel launch I did with Lululemon | Santa Monica Promenade

3-Second Pitch

  1. I’ll shoot photos of anything or anyone you want.

  2. I’ll create a Sharable Gallery & Dedicated Blog Post featuring your company, a blurb about what you do and how we worked together to create awesome content.

  3. I’ll include a live backlink from those webpages to any webpage on your website. This augments your “authority” and boosts your hyper-local Google SEO rankings.

  4. Then I’ll write a really articulate and organic review of your business, product or services on any site or social platform you choose.

  5. Finally, I ask you do the same for me: Post the photos on your site or mention our work together in an upcoming blog post or eNewsletter (a dedicated post/article would be amazing!) with captions or comments including live backlinks to my website: DanSmargPhotography.com

Okay, that was more like 38 seconds. But if you want to hear more about the benefits of collaborating for content and Search Engine Optimization, read on. I’ll give you lots of examples of my recent collaborations!

I travelled all the way to Homer, Alaska to shoot Mike McBride’s famous Kachemak Bay Wilderness Lodge in exchange for an introduction to the owner of Travel Alaska and a flight to Denali National Park. At least he sprung for my plane tickets!

Before I dive into detail, I’ve included a link (below) offering some basic insight on the quantifiable value of a collaboration for content, reviews and backlinks.

I have experience working at marketing agencies and with ad execs so I have a solid understanding of how these three tools are absolutely critical for any business. But I don’t want to bore you if you’re already a genius!

Content Collaborations

Naples Motorsports wanted to capture some really viby “South Florida Lifestyle” shots to showcase their inventory for the winter season so we snapped these for a new customer.

Just FREE photos.

No. Strings. Attached.

I’d like to assuage any doubts you might have that my proposal is some kind of bait-and-switch or scam.

Just like you, I am a small business and I need more of just that - business. We all just got “through” The Pandemic. And if you’re still standing, then you deserve to be congratulated because so many of us lost so much during this time. Some lost everything.

So there is no “catch” here. I am not going to shoot photos for your business then withhold them until you pay me for full-resolution copies or license a certain minimum for some crazy fee. Nothing like that.

Here’s a shot I captured for a collaboration with Electric Family, an eCommerce powerhouse in Venice Beach, California.

Think of it this way: I believe in our collaboration so much, it is valuable enough for me to use my limited time to actually work for free because I know what we’ll create will ultimately be:

A Benefit To Both Of Us

And right now is the best time to be a small business because it’s finally time to get back to business!

I did this spec series for Arc-Teryx hoping they’d hire me to shoot some of their brand influencers. They didn’t. But they did post it on their feed!

What kind of photos?

PHOTOS FOR YOUR BUSINESS

You say it to your team all the time: “We need more content to post!” Or “We need to update the website - it looks like it’s from 1983 (before the Internet was even invented!)” And one of my all-time favorites: “My cell phone photos of our products suck! Should we just look for a photographer on Craigslist?”

Well, now is the moment. The universe has brought us together because we both want the exact same thing at the exactly same time: You need content - I want photo assignments.

I shot this “fresh” look for BeMighty’s new product launch on Amazon when they signed as Spotify’s #1 Offline Partner.

I’ll shoot photos of…

Anything. You. Want.

So I will come to your business, warehouse, home-office or even drive to another state (Might ask you to cover travel expenses on this one though!) to shoot photos of whatever you want. Period.

Right about now, you’re thinking: “This is way too good to be true. When is Dan going to drop the Nice Guy routine and try to take advantage of me?”

Sorry to disappoint you: Not gonna happen!

Shot these for bespoke, plus-sized clothier startup, Belle Parcelle

Belle Parcelle ended up hiring me to shoot every single new clothing launch after our first free “content collab” in Malibu, California.

Maybe now you’re asking: “If this guy is so good at shooting photos, why is he not represented by a big ad company or photo agent who’s getting him gigs with major brands?”

That’s a great question. The answer is, I consider no company too small for a collaboration. Who knows what we’ll create together?!

Shot this series in collaboration with The North Face athlete, Daniel Woods who is touted as the “Michael Jordan of Bouldering.” This gem got lotsa love on socials because he on-sight free-solo’d “So High,” one of J Tree’s most notorious crags.

The rest of the answer is I’ve focused (pun-intended) on “big brands” for so long, I haven’t got SEO traction on a hyper-local level. So my CTR’s on community banner ads and feeds are not converting into measurable ROI.

In layman-human-person language, I need some love from Google and I know you do too. And we could both definitely use more Customer leads to keep the lights on during these wild and crazy times…

Did this LinkedIn shot for Jenny over at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Tried to get hired to do the whole staff in one big pro-rated deal. Didn’t happen. You win some; you lose some… But Jenny sure loves her profile pic!
